The Public Meditation Project consists of using public meditation sessions as a form of social and spiritual activism. The goal is to create change from the feeling level. The best case scenario is that people walk past and feel the peace. Then they momentarily become peaceful, and the people they are with become peaceful. This is world change from the core of our beings.
On a more superficial level, people may think it's funny/interesting/strange/demented/entertaining. People may look at me and say, "oh yeah I've read about that meditation stuff, I should try it sometime and see what all the fuss is about." Or they'll laugh and be in a slightly better mood than they were before.
The public meditation idea started a few years ago, and now I am touring the great malls of Houston, TX meditating everywhere I go.
Several things happen when you meditate in a very public place (like a mall).
First- People look at you weird.
Then they either: laugh, keep walking, say something (like: "Are you peaceful?"), take pictures, and on rare occasions, poke me.
Many more pictures and stories are on their way.
World peace begins with inner peace.
Love and light,
-Alex

Hi, I think that you have a great idea here, and you are right about all peace starting with inner peace. I also took a look at your profile and like the books that you read. You may be having a bigger impact than even you realize. Blessings.
